Derya Yıldırım & Grup Şimşek is a Turkish group known for its blend of Anatolian folk with Western influences like psychedelic and pop. Fronted by singer Derya Yıldırım, all the lyrics are sung in Turkish. That doesn’t detract from enjoyment of the new songs on Yarın Yoksa, which finds the group working with Leon Michels (Norah Jones, Chicano Batman, Clairo) and leaning more into the glories of funk. The Guardian praised the record, “Fuzzy, hypnotic beats, soulful saz-funk and emotive balladry,” concluding the goup’s third album,“ “shows  just how imaginatively Yıldırım and Grup Şimşek can evolve the Turkish psych sound.”
